OUR BEGINNINGS

I.O. Sports Therapy was founded with the goal of changing the way YOU deal with athletic injuries and rehabilitation.  With traditional physical therapy clinics seeing multiple patients at one time and insurance companies dictating when you get care, we sought to change the model to put YOU back into control of your health, rehab, and wellness.

Dr. Brian Schwabe
Clinic Director


Dr. Brian Schwabe is a Board Certified Sports Physical Therapist and Registered International Sports Physical Therapist. He has dedicated his career to become an
expert in rehabilitation of athletic injuries, end stage return to sport, and athletic reconditioning. He has experience working with some of the top professional athletes in the NBA, NFL, & MLB in addition to having a clientele of A-list actors and singers.

Prior to I.O. Sports Therapy, Dr. Schwabe worked with athletes and celebrities in Los Angeles as a concierge
sports therapist. He is one of the few sports residency trained physical therapists in the US, completing his
sports residency at USC and Kerlan Jobe in 2013.

With his expertise in sports physical therapy and return to sport, Dr. Schwabe serves as a consultant for AAU
basketball teams. He blends his love of teaching by
speaking at conferences and serving as a continuing education instructor for sports physical therapy courses
​he has created.

   Dr. Matthew Miller
    Performance Therapist


Matt is a California native, growing up in Santa Cruz County. He completed his undergraduate degree in Human Performance Management at Weber State University in 2012. During his time at Weber State, Matt played wide receiver for the university football team.


Matt received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2018. After graduating from physical therapy school, Matt completed an intensive 9-month training program at Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center, where he studied proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). Matt is a graduate of the accredited sports physical therapy residency program at University of Florida Health. Here he participated in the rehabilitation management of student athletes from a variety of different intercollegiate sports teams at University of Florida.
